If you have just bought a MAG 256/254/250 box for IPTV and are completely lost in setting it up then you’ve come to the right how-to article. The process is very simple and we’ll show you how to get it going in around 5-10 minutes. The first thing you will need to do is locate your MAC address beginning with 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX. This can be found on the sticker at the bottom of the MAG 254 box. You should also be able to locate this MAC number in the settings in case of wear and tear on the sticker.

Next, you will need to purchase an IPTV subscription and provide this MAC to the IPTV provider. Here at CableCast we offer many different servers which you can choose from that are compatible with MAG 254. Click here to get a subscription. Once purchased we can move onto the next step which is to configure the box.

Go into settings > system settings

Next go into Servers > Portals

For Portal Name you can type in anything. For Portal URL you’ll need to type in the URL that is given by provider. Double check to make sure this is typed in exactly. The URL for the servers we provide here at CableCast are. Reboot/Restart Portal.

Express: http://starchoice.selfip.net
OK2: http://ok2.se:8000/c/
GOLD: http://dtv.goldtv.biz
VooDoo: http://voodoo.dynsite.tm:88/emu2/c/

After clicking the restart portal you should see loading portal screen. The MAG 254 box should now load up with the IPTV subscription.

That’s it. Hopefully you were able to succesfuly get the service going. Now, if you’re seeing a login authentication that means the MAC address of your MAG box has not yet been activated. If you just purchased a subscription please give us some time to activate it, this is usually done within an hour or two during business hours.  If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment here and we will be sure to get back to you.  Checkout this instructional video if you get confused or stuck at any point.
